| One of the most famous and successful actors of Tamil Cinema, Vijay Sethupathi`s rose to fame and fortune is a wonderful thing. Having started his career playing small and supportive roles, in the first few years he was almost invisible but turning to make his audience and critics enjoy his roles is not a bad thing. His selection of films was flawless, and after his starring in Pizza, Thenmerku Paruvakaatru, Soodhu Kavvum, and Sethupathi, his fans affectionately called him Makkal Selvam (Son of Man). In addition to being a successful actor, Vijay Sethupathi has taken on other roles as a producer, songwriter and interviewer. Vijay Sethupathi Biography was born in Rajapalayam in Virudhunagar district and moved to Chennai while in Grade Six. He attended MGR Higher Secondary School in Kodambakkam. According to Sethupathy, “he was an undergraduate student from school” and had no interest in sports or academic studies. He graduated with a B.Com degree from DB Jain College in Thoripakam, after which he worked for three years as an accountant in Dubai, U.A. Unhappy with his work, he returned to India in 2003. He recalls that when Balu Mahendra commented that he “had a face that would not be good with events”, he encouraged him to pursue an action. Vijay Sethupathi began his acting career by appearing in small groups, mostly as a friend of the lead character. While the actor did not play a major role in movies, he simultaneously worked on TV series such as Penn and in short films. He got his big break in 2009 when he collaborated with director Suseenthiram on his film Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu. Impressed by Vijay’s drama in films, Suseenthiran praised Vijay Sethupathi for director Seenu Ramasamy for his film, Thenmerku Paruvakaatru and earned his virginity role. The movie was released in December 2010 and went on to win three National Film Awards including Best Tamil Feature Film. |
