Debuting in Brickell this September
Expect more celebrity sitings in Brickell this September when London hotspot Sexy Fish opens up its first U.S. outpost inside Flatiron Building at 1000 Brickell Plaza.
The chic and scene-y Japanese-leaning eatery was created by British hospitality pro Richard Caring — the man behind places like Annabel’s, Ivy Collection, Soho House Group — and chef Bjoern Weissgerber, who gained his first Michelin star at just 27 years old and who helped lead the kitchen at Zuma Miami when it first debuted in 2010.
The extensive menu features a variety of tartare, sahishi, nigiris, and makis, along with heartier plates like king crab and udon noodles, wagyu gyoza, mushroom tempura, kimchi fried rice, grilled duck breast, and Iberico pork ribs. The menu offers a tasting menu along with a diverse bar program that runs late into the evening with drinks inspired by locations from all around the world.
While many details about the Miami location still haven’t been released, its reps promise the same vibe as its London counterpart, which boats a golden ceiling, a Frank Gehry crocodile, a bonze Damien Hirst mermaid statue, and of course, tanks filled with colorful fish and coral. The London location of the restaurant is also a celeb spotter’s dream with Katy Perry, Hugh Jackman, along with a laundry list of others dining there, so who only knows who will be spotted at the Miami location.
